Where Fire Meets Purpose.
You deserve more than heat — you deserve a ritual.
A moment to slow down, to feel your heartbeat steady, to breathe in cedar and fire, and to remember what it means to feel truly alive.
Thermaculture exists for those who crave real warmth — the kind that seeps into your bones, connects you to the land, and reminds you of your own strength.
We believe sweating is a right, not a luxury.
We believe community heals what isolation has fractured.
And we believe that slowing down — sweating, resting, reconnecting — is a quiet act of revolution.
When you light the stove, you’re not just heating a tent. You’re participating in the return
— to balance, to integrity, to being in your element.
THERMIE FAQs
How does the portable sauna work?
Our saunas are wood-fired and designed for easy set-up anywhere outdoors. Simply set up the tent, add wood to the stove, and enjoy a traditional sauna experience within 30 mins.
How easy is it to set up the sauna tent?
The sauna tent and stove together takes approx. 15-20 minutes to set up. To make the process even easier, we provide clear text + video instructions for both.
How long does it take to heat up?
On average, it takes about 15 minutes for the sauna to reach the optimal temperature.
How many people can comfortably fit inside?
The sauna tent comfortably accommodates 4 to 5 people, depending on the seating arrangement.
What are the dimensions?
The sauna tent measures 222cm x 222cm x 180cm.
How durable are the sauna tent materials?
The sauna tent is built for Canadian weather, with high durability in mind.
- Made from Thermaweave™ Insulated Fabric, it is designed to endure rugged outdoor environments
- Aluminum poles ensure it won't collapse under heavy snowfall.
- SBS zippers provide long lasting reliability.
Is the sauna tent lightweight? How compact does it fold down for storage and travel?
Yes, our sauna tent is designed to be lightweight and highly portable without compromising on durability.
It packs down into a compact duffel-style bag that fits easily in most car trunks, making it perfect for road trips, cabin weekends, or backyard sessions.
Setup and takedown are quick and intuitive, and once folded, the entire system-inlcuding the frame and tent-can be stored in a space that holds typical camping gear.
Whether you're heading deep into the woods, or just around the corner, Thermaculture makes it easy to take the ritual of sauna with you.
How does using a sauna tent compare to a traditional sauna in terms of health benefits?
A traditional sauna typically refers to a wooden structure, originating from Finland. Sauna tents while different in design, offer the same thermal benefits when equipped with our wood-burning stove.
In addition to the physical health benefits, sauna tents provide the unique advantage of allowing you to connect to the elements of nature. Whether you are grounding your feet on the earth, or enjoying the sauna in a natural outdoor setting, the experience enhances relaxation and stress reduction.
Being immersed in nature while enjoying the sauna amplifies its grounding effects, promoting both mental and physical well-being.

from 80 reviewsHaving spent time in outdoor saunas in Norway I was skeptical if a tent could match that experience. My first surprise was when I unboxed the stove and saw the quality of it, then the tent complete with proper stove insert and actual steel poles. After setting it all up and doing a few sessions my biggest surprise was how little wood it took to get the sauna tent up to 160 and keep it there, (it can get hotter, 180, buy my happy place is 150-160). Very efficient stove and once the stones are properly heated up it only takes a few sticks to keep it hot. It's been quite awhile since I've felt like I got my moneys worth with a purchase, especially these days, but this set up has definitely ticked that box!
The core kit is your all-in-one home sauna experience! I first got into sauna tents when my friend lent me his (Morzh Walrus, a great tent too!). When looking for my own, I was searching for a local company (Canadian) and one that didn’t cut corners. One that cared. That’s what I found in Thermaculture. Thermaculture is a sauna experience / people company first. I remember the owner was a few days late responding to an email because she was out in the forest leading people through a sauna retreat! If there’s anyone I want making my sauna tent, it would be someone who lives this lifestyle. When I finally made the purchase, I couldn’t be happier. The quality of the material, stitching, and details show how much they care and how much they know the needs of its customers (buckle to hold door open, extra window, jog in chimney to optimize space inside,…). Rocks take the sauna experience to another level! And they don’t crack! I washed the dust of mine first and let it dry and wow… that first pour and steam was unreal! Benches are solid, fit perfectly, and fold well with a cool carrying bag. If I could change anything, maybe I would add a skylight… and a few extra saunas so I can host more people! Great job Thermaculture!
The new Thermaculture stove is well designed. I had it up to 220F when the outside temp was 5C. I could have gone higher. The front and back are made of two layers of stainless steel and the sides have a 'shield' that deflects the heat upward. This keeps the heat from burning your legs. No smoke comes inside the tent if you slowly open the door when adding wood. Look forward to using it several times a week.
Was really excited to receive my new sauna! Took it out with a few buddies as soon as I got it! It was super easy to set up and only took 5 minutes to heat up. Keeping it in the back of my car and using it whenever I can! Would highly recommend this company!
What started as a solo ritual turned into something we now share with friends every week. The sauna brings people together in a way nothing else does—it's become the center of our gatherings.
We brought our Thermaculture sauna to the lake last weekend, and it was magic. Easy to transport, quick to set up, and suddenly—we had a full-blown sauna under the stars.
You can tell this was designed in Canada. From the stove to the tent material and zippers, everything feels solid, intentional, and made to withstand our wild winters. It's not just beautiful—it's built to last
Loved our sauna experience. Emilee and and Amanda went above and beyond
We had an incredible time with Thermaculture Sauna Tents during our Community Polar Plunge Event. Elevated the whole experience and gave our participants a comfortable place to warm up. Top Notch Quality Product and Great Customer Service.
Love my sauna! Love that the company is local and women owned and operated. The product is quality and also easy to use. All around so happy with it.
I recently rented a sauna tent from Thermaculture for a group cold plunge in Calgary, and it was fantastic! The tent was incredibly easy to set up, and it comfortably fit four people, though six could squeeze in if you're feeling cozy. The windows on two sides were a nice touch — they have covers if you prefer a darker, more relaxing atmosphere or want to use the tent as a private change room before your plunge.
Transporting the tent was also straightforward. It fits easily in a vehicle trunk, though it’s a bit on the heavier side if you're carrying it a longer distance. We used a wagon to bring it to our spot, which worked perfectly.
A special shout out to Emily, who made the pick-up and drop-off process seamless and was super friendly and accommodating. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Thermaculture’s sauna tent for anyone planning a cold plunge or outdoor wellness experience. I’ll be using it again for sure!
The sauna was a lovely and relaxing experience. The flexibility of being able to set up the sauna wherever you want is one of the best features. We were able to set up the sauna on the deck of our Airbnb with the window facing the mountains for a magical view while enjoying the rejuvenating sauna heat after a long day of snowboarding.
Amazing crew and amazing service. Definitely recommend trying their sauna setup for your events and gatherings especially if you're looking to bring some coziness and tranquility to your event.
Thank you so much for the great experience
Amazing stay-cation and would recommend to anyone! I rented the 5 person sauna over a weekend. Amanda and her team were very easy to communicate with and quick to answer any questions I had. Set up took less than an hour and they are very flexible with drop off/pick up timing. I will definitely be renting again when I need to thaw out in the middle of winter! Very grateful to have found Thermaculture :)
We purchased thermaculture's sauna tent/stove a couple of months ago. We did not want to write a premature review, so we waited for awhile to see if there were any major flaws before writing this. However, so far there are none. We have used many different types of saunas over the years and this one outperforms the majority of them. The only thing that outperforms it is a full-sized cedar sauna with a full-sized sauna stove. We thoroughly researched all of the competitors, but liked the features available in this tent/stove combo. This sauna literally transformed our winter and we find ourselves using it almost every day. It heats up quickly and produces as much steam as you can handle. There is a small learning curve with getting the stove to max temp in the shortest duration of time possible, but it soon becomes second nature. Use good dry wood with a higher BTU and keep feeding it intermittently. Keep a bucket of ice water inside of the tent and get a sauna hat to dunk in it as needed, as it will keep you refreshed. Ladle warm water over the hot rocks by lightly splashing it across as much surface area as possible. If you are thinking about buying this, don't hesitate, as you will not be disappointed.
