Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's

Do I need a building permit?

No permit is required. Our sauna tents are considered temporary structures and can be set up almost anywhere — in your backyard, beside a lake, or deep in the wild.

Does the sauna tent get as hot as a traditional sauna?

Yes. Our wood-fired stove heats the tent to 80–100 °C (175–212 °F) in about 15–20 minutes — the same temperatures you’d find in a traditional Finnish sauna.

How do you set it up?

Setup takes about 15 minutes with one person. .

Insert the poles into the tent and zip them in place, then stabilize the tent with stakes and guy lines.

Next, assemble the stove by removing the chimney pieces stored inside, unfold the stove legs, and stack the chimney pipes through the stove jack. Once lit, your sauna will reach full heat in 15–20 minutes.

Can the sauna tent stay up permanently?

Yes — it’s built to handle all seasons, including heavy snow. The frame and fabric are engineered for stability and won’t collapse under weight.

We do, however, recommend using a rain cover for UV protection — since the top of the tent is the first area to experience wear over time. For best longevity, set up in a shaded area whenever possible, especially during long summer days.

Do you rent sauna tents?

Yes. Rentals are available throughout Canada — perfect for events or trying one before purchase.

How portable is it really?

Very. The tent and stove pack into any standard vehicle. Great for camping, cabins, and road trips.

What are the advantages of a sauna tent?

  • No building permit or construction required.
  • Portable — use it year-round, from backyard to backcountry.
  • True wood-fired heat with quick setup and teardown.
  • More affordable and flexible than building a fixed sauna.
  • Connects you to the earth for a grounding, restorative experience.
  • Perfect for camping, festivals, cabins, or backyard wellness rituals.
  • Take it on shoulder-season camping trips — you may end up loving spring and fall even more than summer.
