THE DETAILS
The Details
As one of the first companies to pioneer the portable sauna tent industry in the world — and the first in North America — Thermaculture has spent years designing, testing, and refining this system to perform in the harshest climates. Every stove and tent combination reflects that evolution — built not just to withstand the elements, but to bring the ritual of heat and restoration to the wild.
The Sauna Tent
Compact enough for your trunk, yet designed to perform anywhere — from backyard setups to remote retreats and professional events. Weighing only 22 lbs, the V2 tent assembles in 15 minutes and comfortably fits 4–5 people.
Built with THERMAWEAVE™ insulated fabric, SBS zippers, and reinforced seams, it delivers triple-layer warmth, weather resistance, and long-term durability. Aluminum poles, thick TPU windows, and secure storm lines ensure reliability through snow, wind, and rain — tested to –42 °C for real-world resilience.
Combining portability with strength, the Thermaculture tent redefines what a portable sauna can be — transforming the wild into a space of restoration and ritual.
The Wood-Fired Stove
Compact, powerful, and built for adventure. Crafted from 304 stainless steel with a brushed finish, it’s engineered for fast, efficient heating and long-term durability.
Features a compact internal packing system — every component, including the chimney pipes, fits neatly inside for effortless transport. Load it into your car, camper van, or even check it as luggage — no trailer required. Just you, your fire, and the open road.
Let customers speak for us
from 95 reviewsThis is an awesome portable sauna. The wood stove is great quality stainless steel and the tent is made of quality material. You can tell the difference between this tent and cheepo tents. The attention to detail matters. Also it doesn't smell, which I was worried about prior to buying a sauna tent. Well done Thermaculture!
Amazing set up! Highly recommend it!
We tried the original stove and tent for a rental and had lots of challenges getting the stove going.
This updated version is amazing! In 15 minutes with very little wood (Tamarack) the tent was HOT!!
It's evident that a lot of planning and intention went into creating this version of the tent and the entire set up!
The process was absolutely seamless and the equipment was perfect in our yard. We rented for a full week and had the sauna tent hot. -35 outside and 100 degrees inside the sauna. The cold plunge tub was the absolute cherry on top. Never felt more rested.
Well made and well thought out. Lots of vents so i never feel low on O2. More than enough heat for a proper sauna any where any time!
Thank you for all the details you put such care into with these products. It has been such a transformative experience having a sauna finally of my own. For years I’ve dreamt of my own sauna but the constant moving and costs made it an impossible dream. Every night now since I set up the sauna my partner and I have used the sauna to unwind, also diving into our cold plunge we put together in the adjacent hot tent we have setup. We’ve been sleeping so well and the mood between us despite the winter zapping us has been noticeably brighter. When I had an issue with set up your team member Amanda made a point to keep calling at different times until we connected. I work in customer service and it was a great experience that not only was nice to feel like a human being and not just a sale but also that there was a team of people who are there to help with the sauna journey I am going on. Keep up the amazing work, it really comes through on the customer end.
The instructions that come with it leave a bit to be desired but once you think it through it all comes together (the first set up is always a little tricky with figuring out a new tent) the zippers are a beefy good quality and you can set it up without any fire going and it makes a great winter base camp as it cuts the wind and insulates so well. There are great ventilation pockets and two very large windows that can also be sealed up for an incredibly immersive sensory deprivation session in the sauna at night. I’m so glad with all the options I looked at for companies this is the choice I made. It is a little more expensive then some other competitors but you can see why when the products come. The staff is also amazingly responsive and called many times to make sure I had figured out my setup snags and that I was enjoying my purchase. Well worth the investment with a Canadian owned company.
The tent is the centerpiece of the sauna experience, and Thermaculture truly delivers. The material and stitching are top-notch, and the design details—like the door-holding buckle and chimney jog for extra space—show real attention to user needs. It heats quickly and retains warmth beautifully. If I could add anything, maybe a skylight, but honestly, it’s already an outstanding product.
I've been looking for a sauna for a while, wondering about building one in the back yard or maybe something in the basement. Nothing was just right though. Then I found Thermaculture! It's perfect and I am an evangelist already. The quality of the stove, the tent material, the zippers and the box of rocks, everything is top drawer. I'm loving the wood fired heat, it is way different than that sauna at the health club, it gets right into your bones. It was -10C last night, and with three pieces of good birch, I had a 95-100 degree sauna for 30 minutes. And a huge smile on my face because of my sauna!
Having spent time in outdoor saunas in Norway I was skeptical if a tent could match that experience. My first surprise was when I unboxed the stove and saw the quality of it, then the tent complete with proper stove insert and actual steel poles. After setting it all up and doing a few sessions my biggest surprise was how little wood it took to get the sauna tent up to 160 and keep it there, (it can get hotter, 180, buy my happy place is 150-160). Very efficient stove and once the stones are properly heated up it only takes a few sticks to keep it hot. It's been quite awhile since I've felt like I got my moneys worth with a purchase, especially these days, but this set up has definitely ticked that box!
The core kit is your all-in-one home sauna experience! I first got into sauna tents when my friend lent me his (Morzh Walrus, a great tent too!). When looking for my own, I was searching for a local company (Canadian) and one that didn’t cut corners. One that cared. That’s what I found in Thermaculture. Thermaculture is a sauna experience / people company first. I remember the owner was a few days late responding to an email because she was out in the forest leading people through a sauna retreat! If there’s anyone I want making my sauna tent, it would be someone who lives this lifestyle. When I finally made the purchase, I couldn’t be happier. The quality of the material, stitching, and details show how much they care and how much they know the needs of its customers (buckle to hold door open, extra window, jog in chimney to optimize space inside,…). Rocks take the sauna experience to another level! And they don’t crack! I washed the dust of mine first and let it dry and wow… that first pour and steam was unreal! Benches are solid, fit perfectly, and fold well with a cool carrying bag. If I could change anything, maybe I would add a skylight… and a few extra saunas so I can host more people! Great job Thermaculture!
The new Thermaculture stove is well designed. I had it up to 220F when the outside temp was 5C. I could have gone higher. The front and back are made of two layers of stainless steel and the sides have a 'shield' that deflects the heat upward. This keeps the heat from burning your legs. No smoke comes inside the tent if you slowly open the door when adding wood. Look forward to using it several times a week.
Was really excited to receive my new sauna! Took it out with a few buddies as soon as I got it! It was super easy to set up and only took 5 minutes to heat up. Keeping it in the back of my car and using it whenever I can! Would highly recommend this company!
We had an incredible time with Thermaculture Sauna Tents during our Community Polar Plunge Event. Elevated the whole experience and gave our participants a comfortable place to warm up. Top Notch Quality Product and Great Customer Service.
I recently rented a sauna tent from Thermaculture for a group cold plunge in Calgary, and it was fantastic! The tent was incredibly easy to set up, and it comfortably fit four people, though six could squeeze in if you're feeling cozy. The windows on two sides were a nice touch — they have covers if you prefer a darker, more relaxing atmosphere or want to use the tent as a private change room before your plunge.
Transporting the tent was also straightforward. It fits easily in a vehicle trunk, though it’s a bit on the heavier side if you're carrying it a longer distance. We used a wagon to bring it to our spot, which worked perfectly.
A special shout out to Emily, who made the pick-up and drop-off process seamless and was super friendly and accommodating. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Thermaculture’s sauna tent for anyone planning a cold plunge or outdoor wellness experience. I’ll be using it again for sure!
Thermaculture is an amazing local woman owned business that is building connections and community though their offerings. Can not recommend them enough!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQ'S
Do I need a building permit?
No permit is required. Our sauna tents are considered temporary structures and can be set up almost anywhere — in your backyard, beside a lake, or deep in the wild.
Does the sauna tent get as hot as a traditional sauna?
Yes. Our wood-fired stove heats the tent to 80–100 °C (175–212 °F) in about 15–20 minutes — the same temperatures you’d find in a traditional Finnish sauna.
How do you set it up?
Setup takes about 15 minutes with one person. .
Insert the poles into the tent and zip them in place, then stabilize the tent with stakes and guy lines.
Next, assemble the stove by removing the chimney pieces stored inside, unfold the stove legs, and stack the chimney pipes through the stove jack. Once lit, your sauna will reach full heat in 15–20 minutes.
Can the sauna tent stay up permanently?
Yes — it’s built to handle all seasons, including heavy snow. The frame and fabric are engineered for stability and won’t collapse under weight.
We do, however, recommend using a rain cover for UV protection — since the top of the tent is the first area to experience wear over time. For best longevity, set up in a shaded area whenever possible, especially during long summer days.
