Slow Design

We design slowly, on purpose. Our goal was never to chase trends or build for scale, but to create something meaningful and lasting.

Thermaculture exists to support a real sauna culture — rooted in ritual, connection, and community — not quick growth, shortcuts, or passing wellness trends.

THE DETAILS

As one of the first companies to pioneer the portable sauna tent industry in the world — and the first in North America — Thermaculture has spent years designing, testing, and refining this system to perform in the harshest climates.

The Sauna Tent

Compact enough for any vehicle, yet designed to perform anywhere — from backyard setups to remote retreats and professional events. Weighing only 22 lbs, the V2 tent assembles in 15 minutes and comfortably fits 4–5 people.

Built with THERMAWEAVE™ insulated fabric, SBS zippers, and reinforced seams, the tent delivers triple-layer warmth, weather resistance, and long-term durability. Aluminum poles, thick TPU windows, and secure storm lines ensure reliability through snow, wind, and rain — tested to –42 °C for real-world resilience. The structure is designed to withstand extended winter conditions, including remaining set up in heavy snow throughout the season.

Air quality and comfort were a priority in the design. The tent includes an additional BPA-free internal liner selected specifically for high-heat, high-moisture environments. In real-world use, customers consistently report no noticeable off-gassing or synthetic smells, even at high heat.

Material selection and airflow were developed in close collaboration with experienced engineers, with a focus on creating heat that feels like a true sauna — clean, breathable, and comfortable. The design supports strong air circulation and fresh airflow, rather than harsh radiant blast, allowing the sauna to heat efficiently, hold warmth well, and feel good to sit in for longer sessions.

The Wood-Fired Stove

Compact, powerful, and built for adventure. Crafted from 304 stainless steel with a brushed finish, it’s engineered for fast, efficient heating and long-term durability.

The stove features an internal spark arrestor and an external spark guard to help prevent stray sparks during use. Convector walls are designed to open while the stove is operating to reduce radiant heat and improve airflow, then fold back in for a compact, packable form when in transit.

Every detail has been considered — from a generously sized firebox for stronger, hotter fires, to the included top stove tray that helps protect the stove body over years of use. Chimney stack packs neatly inside the stove.

Load it into your car, camper van, or even check it as luggageno trailer or building permit required. Just you, your fire, and the open road.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ'S

Do I need a building permit?

No permit is required. Our sauna tents are considered temporary structures and can be set up almost anywhere — in your backyard, beside a lake, or deep in the wild.

Does the sauna tent get as hot as a traditional sauna?

Yes. Our wood-fired stove heats the tent to 80–100 °C (175–212 °F) in about 15–20 minutes — the same temperatures you’d find in a traditional Finnish sauna.

How do you set it up?

Setup takes about 15 minutes with one person. .

Insert the poles into the tent and zip them in place, then stabilize the tent with stakes and guy lines.

Next, assemble the stove by removing the chimney pieces stored inside, unfold the stove legs, and stack the chimney pipes through the stove jack. Once lit, your sauna will reach full heat in 15–20 minutes.

Can the sauna tent stay up permanently?

Yes — it’s built to handle all seasons, including heavy snow. The frame and fabric are engineered for stability and won’t collapse under weight.

We do, however, recommend using a rain cover for UV protection — since the top of the tent is the first area to experience wear over time. For best longevity, set up in a shaded area whenever possible, especially during long summer days.
